Dry Fruits Milkshake | Healthy Milkshake for kids | Summer drinks

Dry fruit milkshake is a thick shake with dried fruit, milk and topped with saffron for a filling snack or beverage option.

I am not a fruit+milk = milkshake kind of a mom, although its possibly the easiest way to feed a child with fruits. I feel the texture of the fruit & the fibre content undergoes a drastic change , not to mention that according to ayurveda, fruits and milk taken together increases toxicity in the body, and might lead to infections later.

But sometimes, I do give in to make this dry fruit milkshake or even the Apple-cinnamon milkshake when we are running out of time for a quick snack or I am too tired to whip up a decent mid-evening snack.

So, coming to today’s dish, its made with just 5 ingredients It’s a no brainer and actually requires no recipe per se.
Make any additions to this as per your palate. And treat your kids (and yourself) with this yummy drink.

Who all can benefit from this milkshake ?

Active, young kids

Those who are fasting (religious purposes) and are restricted with many foods

Post workout recipe

Quick snack for teenagers who are too busy to grab a bite

Those who are trying to gain weight. You can skip the ice cream though 🙂

Kalyani, I am on your side regarding the ayurvedic combinations with milk. Thats why I have only mango shake and badam shake posts on my blog so far. I have some figs lying idle since long. Will make this shake and chill out this weekend. Thanks for sharing.
