As you would know by now, am quite fond of street food and although laborious I prefer to make them at home not just for hygiene (which is the most important reason) but also to feed the kids a sumptuous snack once they are back from snack. Now, let’s make room for some chaat, shall we ?

I made this for lunch last weekend and it was quite filling.

Tips and Tricks to make yummy Moong Chaat

  1. You can sub with boiled Channa (chickpeas) if you dont have moong on hand
  2. Onions are optional, although they add a bit of crunch
  3. Boil Moong / Moong Sprouts till they are cooked, but not mushy. Drain all the water and then use it in the recipe
  4. Sometimes moong sprouts turn bitter when boiled, taste a bit before makign the chaat.
  5. Use of yoghurt is totally optional, but it rounds off the flavours in this chaat. If vegan, skip the yogurt or use a vegan substitute (UNFLAVOURED)
  6. You can also top this chaat with Farsan / Sev / Ompudi for added texture and flavour
