Avocado Spread is a gluten free, no cook , 100% vegan delicious spread or dip made with avocado and basic pantry ingredients.
I am not one for checking out trending / viral video recipes as I find most of them a fad or unsuitable for my family’s eating preferences, but I had to give in to the little minion’s demands who absolutely loves a good Avo Toast.
And the mother in me had to amp this up with a few leafy greens and this was the “most delish breakfast” as declared by the same minion 🙂
I tried this with both un-toasted and toasted bread, and the key to savour either one, is to bite into this immediately after it’s made. We loved both the versions. As with the Classic Hummus or the roasted Carrot Hummus, this goes great with sourdough / pita chips too!
FAQs / tips and tricks to make this Avocado toast aka spread
Where else can I use this Avo-spread ?
Pita chips, toasted bread, veg crudités, falafels, wraps— practically anywhere where you need to amp up your meals !
Can I freeze / refrigerate this avocado spread ?
Highly recommend using this spread as soon as you make it. The oxidation can be pretty quick and leaves an unappetising flavour and colour.
I don’t have / like basil. Can I still make this spread?
Absolutely. I used fresh basil as I had it on hand. Go wild with even some blanched spinach in addition to the avocado mush.

Avocado spread is always on list as a spread instead of jam and butter. such a healthy dish kalyani.
Thanks Renu! yes – absolutely healthy..
What I love about avocado spread is that I don’t have to slather my toast or sandwich with butter. Instead, the healthy and tasty avocado spread is more than enough. A great quick recipe.
Absolutely, Mayuri. The good fats here are so nutrious and delish right
This is a very interesting twist. We get a lot of avocado and avo toasts, but I have never thought of basil in it. it is refreshingly light and flavourful.
