Simmer butter and milk in a sauce pan, when it reduces to half, add the sugar and cook till it dissolves.
Now add the Almond Meal, desiccated coconut, vanilla essence and let the mixture thicken over very low flame and starts leaving the sides of the pan (about 6-8 mins).
If using Condensed milk, there is no need to heat it, just mix it with ingredients from step 2 above along with the melted butter
Let it cool for 1-2 mins.
Pinch out a little dough at a time (the almond meal and the butter will leave behind lots of grease at this stage, so no need to grease your palms)
If you don't want to use your hands, use an ice cream scooper to divide the portions and gently roll
Shape into a small ball & roll it in desiccated coconut (add a drop of colour to part of the coconut if you wish to) and top with a clove.
Place in individual paper liners and serve at a kids' party :)
Notes
Tips for the best Beijinho De coco:
If you are using condensed milk, make it 1 cup, increase the dessicated coconut by 4 TBSP more and skip the milk & sugar
Add only warm butter to the ingredient mix at step 2 if using condensed milk
if you dont want to add food colour, roll the truffles in chocolate vermicelli
Add a tsp or two of cacao powder to make a chocolate variant of these truffles. adjust sugar / condensed milk accordingly. Else use few tsp of melted milk chocolate
